Stone is heavy, but thin edges and protruding details can still be fragile. Effective export packing starts with the product geometry and the transport route.
01. Protect vulnerable points
Identify rims, corners, handles, narrow necks and hardware interfaces. Internal support should distribute loads and keep the piece from moving inside the carton.
02. Plan the unit and the master carton
Specify protective layers, separation between pieces, carton dimensions and gross weight. Keep the pack practical for warehouse handling and retail unpacking. Include labels and a packing list in the approval process.
03. Validate for the expected route
Discuss handling, vibration, drop and compression requirements with your packaging provider. Parcel delivery and palletized freight expose a pack to different conditions. A packing photograph alone is not proof of transport performance.
04. Confirm responsibilities in writing
Agree on the delivery term, named location, insurance responsibilities and required shipping documents. Ask the logistics provider to confirm destination-specific requirements before dispatch.
