Marble and travertine respond to the environment around them. Gentle cleaning and a clear understanding of intended use help preserve the appearance of a finished piece.
01. How do you clean a marble tray or bowl?
Remove loose particles, then wipe with a soft cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner suitable for natural stone. Dry the surface after cleaning. Test any new care product on an inconspicuous area first.
02. Keep acids away from marble
Acidic liquids such as lemon juice and vinegar can etch calcium-based stones. Wipe spills promptly and avoid acidic bathroom or kitchen cleaners. A sealer does not make a stone immune to etching.
03. Separate decorative and functional use
Do not assume a decorative object is food-safe, watertight or suitable for outdoor use. Confirm these requirements during development and use appropriate testing and care instructions.
04. Provide care guidance with the product
Agree on a care card that matches the actual stone, finish, sealer and intended use. Specific instructions are more useful to customers than a generic natural-stone label.
